The LED, ring shaped illumination is recommended for stereo microscopes. The image becomes more evenly illuminated and there are no shadows at all.
Diameter is 61mm and can be mounted onto any microscope with any smaller diameter using the three screws. The thickness is 28mm.
The LED models provide more light output and has a much longer lifetime. The brightness is also adjustable. Comes with a 220V adaptor.
